Bonus Pads

One of the innovations that Infinite Crisis' Gotham Divided map implemented to differentiate itself from other 3-lane MOBA maps was the Bonus pads. Bonus pads where set up at each teams base. When players defeated neutral monsters that are situated throughout the map, the bonus pads would spawn various boosts that a player could pick up and use.

I designed the icons to have a simple silhouette that would read easily from far away, but also provide a level of sophistication within the details when viewed at close range. I then had the opportunity to design the VFX for both the pads and the orbs that the player picks up. I tried to keep constancy within the motion of the particle systems, but shape the particle based on the type of bonus that deploying one of the pads provides.
